César Pachón – Revolution of the Ruanas

Few people outside Latin America have heard of César Pachón. But in his native Colombia his campaign of resistance against the agricultural policies of his government have made him a revolutionary hero.

Along with his collaborators Florentino Borda and Walter Benavides, Pachón is at the forefront of a campaign by rural farmers to fight back against the government’s official support for the interests of multinational agribusiness rather than Colombia’s indigenous farming community.
This ‘revolution of the ruanas’, named after the farmers’ distinctive woollen ponchos, has already begun to transform the landscape for the country people of Boyaca.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear César Pachón tell his incredible story in his own words.
