Are You On The Bus

All over the world, May 1st is a special day. For more than a hundred years the ancient spring festival has been celebrated as International Workers’ Day, and in many countries it’s a public holiday. But not in Britain. Here, we have to make do with a meaningless bank holiday on the first Monday in May, which could fall on any date between 1st and 7th.

This year, CAIWU is reclaiming May 1st as the workers’ celebration it ought to be. With your support, we can make it a labour day again. Join us on an open-topped bus tour of London’s most notorious employers. Make some celebratory noise to remind them of the power of the workers. Be outside Parliament at 13.15, when Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell joins us to support our campaigns for justice. And afterwards, come back to our HQ at the Mayday Rooms for an evening of food and drink and video screenings.

CELEBRATE MAYDAY AS IT OUGHT TO BE CELEBRATED — BY NOT GOING TO WORK!
