The Cleaners & Allied Independent Workers Union

is a registered trade union representing over a thousand workers employed mainly in London's cleaning industry. We believe that every human being is entitled to dignity and respect in the workplace, and it is our mission to help our members fight for this basic right, along with others like fair pay, terms and working conditions.

Union Elections 2019

Fellow workers,
Our next Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be on Saturday March 30th.
You will have the opportunity to elect new candidates to the leadership of the union, or to re-elect the current officers.
Candidates must be nominated by union members, and nominations must be submitted by March 16th.
The positions are:
  • General Secretary
  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Treasurer
  • 2 x Trustees / Auditors
  • Communications Officer

If there is more than one candidate for a position, a postal vote will be held for that particular post.

The AGM and elections will be followed by a social gathering with music, drinks and food.
